Join the 32,000 Who Have Taken the Challenge to Save Lives

WOW Wyoming is a collaborative initiative to bring the Intervene Challenge to Casper Wyoming all for the purpose of empowering community members with the skills that save lives and restores hope for individuals at risk of suicide. The Intervene Challenge is a training event developed by Stop Suicide USA. Nationwide nearly 32,000 individuals have taken the one day training event and thousands of lives have been saved. Intervention Saves Lives-Gaining the skills to do so is the vital key!

Join Stop Suicide USA as an Ambassador of Hope as we take the Intervene Challenge to the Equality State

My sixth-grade teacher is counting on us! Mrs. Nancy Wayte was my sixth-grade teacher in 1975 in East Point, Georgia. She now lives in Casper. She was the one that gave me a love for writing. It made perfect sense when I published LISTEN LEARN LEAD that Mrs. Wayte should be the one to proofread the manuscript. This book serves as the primary text in the Intervene Challenge through which nearly 32,000 individuals have been trained in the skills of suicide intervention. I knew it was time to make the trip when she sent me a message saying, “Many impossible things have been accomplished by those who refuse to quit.”

Wyoming has a suicide rate that is 120% higher than the national average. Within the state, suicide is the second leading cause of death for ages 10 to 34. Almost five times as many people die from suicide than in alcohol related vehicle accidents. While many of us who live in highly populated communities may think that having the lowest population in the nation would be cause for celebration, it also means that 53% of communities in Wyoming do not have enough mental health providers to serve residents according to minimal federal guidelines.

We will head West March of 2026 and your help is needed to WOW Wyoming. By the way WOW stands for Work on Wellness. With your help I too believe “great things can be accomplished by those who refuse to quit and together we will Work on Wellness in Wyoming!

Give today to support the cause and register now for the training in Casper on March 14, 2026.

Yours in Hope and Resilience,

Lou
