The Courageous Challenge 2025
Empowering Communities to Stop Suicide
Since 2016, the Courageous Challenge has served as the primary annual funding event of Stop Suicide USA (SSUSA). The Challenge found its home in 2020 when the Cadets of UNG took it to the next level. In 2024 Greek organizations and the Lady Nighthawks Basketball Team joined in.
The UNG Alumni Association has been a huge support hosting the first training event for UNG in November 2018, and every year since. Hundreds of individuals in the North Georgia community from all walks of life have attended and are now part of the growing network of care building a beacon of hope that guides those at risk to safe harbor.
Because of your support we have conducted more than 2,000 successful suicide interventions and trained more than 30,000 participants in the skills that save lives. Participants include the 101st Airborne, 169th Fighter Wing USAF, Universities, schools, hospitals, civic groups and more than 500 first responder agencies. In 2024 the Courageous Challenge underwrote a regional training in Helen, GA with agencies throughout the region participating.
Your support saves lives. Thank you for joining us in the mission to eradicate suicide. Together we are stronger!
The Courageous Challenge returns to the University of North Georgia for the 25 April 2025. The Cadets have teamed up with Greek Life and the Athletes for the biggest event yet.
Thank you for joining SSUSA in the mission to eradicate suicide.
Together we are stronger!
Your generous support makes our mission possible.
Our interventions include offering crisis counseling to families, conducting mental health workshops in schools, training first responders to recognize and respond to suicide risk, and creating safe environments through community outreach programs. Each of these efforts is made possible by your generosity, helping us save lives and foster hope.
